By connecting to a ISN Free WiFi hotspot and creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
ISN Free WiFi provides free internet access at participating business locations in South Africa via a captive portal, accessed by watching a short ad, redeeming a voucher, or paying for a data plan by card, depending on what this location currently has enabled. The service is free of charge to end users who complete whichever of these applies. It is operated by ISN Free WiFi, licensed from ISN Free WiFi.
You may use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not:
Reasonable fair-use limits apply to ensure all users have a good experience. Heavy background traffic (e.g. OS updates, cloud backups) may be deprioritised during peak hours. Large downloads above 500 MB per session may be rate-limited at the router level.
You must watch all required ads honestly — do not mute, cover, or minimise the ad player. Any technical issue preventing an ad from playing is noted by the system and you will not be penalised; contact support if your session fails to unlock.
Ad-earned bundles are non-transferable. Unused data expires at the end of the session window. Bundle sizes:
Vouchers are single-use unless stated otherwise and grant the data amount and duration printed on the voucher. A voucher is void once redeemed, expired, or reported as compromised. Vouchers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, resold, or redeemed for money.
Data plans are paid for by card at the price shown before you confirm. Access begins once payment is confirmed and lasts for the plan's stated duration or data amount, whichever ends first. Purchases are final; a failed or unconfirmed payment grants no access. Refund requests for a plan that genuinely never activated can be raised with Email Support.
Some venues also provide pre-registered accounts directly to residents, students, or staff, sometimes with their own separate data allowance or fair-use limits set by the venue. If you were given one of these, its specific terms (if any) were communicated to you by the venue itself.
We comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We collect your phone number or email for session management and use anonymised connection data (time, device type, venue) to improve the service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Domain visit statistics are stored without linking them to personal identifiers. You can download or delete your data from My Account, or by emailing Email Support.
Data retention: connection & session records (login time, device identifier, data used) are kept for 5 years after your last use, then automatically deleted — a floor set by South Africa's Regulation of Interception of Communications Act (RICA) for communication-related records, not something we can shorten on request. Your personal identity data (phone, email, name) is purged within 30 days of a deletion request instead. Full schedule: ISN Free WiFi Help.
This is a public WiFi network. Always use HTTPS websites and avoid transmitting sensitive information (e.g. banking passwords) over any public network. ISN Free WiFi is not liable for data breaches or malware infections resulting from user activity on connected devices.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or harm other users or the platform. You may appeal by emailing Email Support.
We aim for continuous uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, router outages, power failures at partner venues, and ISP issues may cause temporary unavailability. No compensation applies since the service is free.
The ISN Free WiFi platform, dashboard, branding, and all software are the intellectual property of ISN Free WiFi, licensed to ISN Free WiFi. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or reproduce any part of the system.
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, ISN Free WiFi and ISN Free WiFi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
